Symbian S60 Web Browser setup instructions #
This tutorial will get you set up for Protoweb on smartphones using the Symbian Series 60 3rd Edition (S60v3) platform, used on devices such as Nokia E50, E51, E70, E90, N73, N80, N81, N91, N95 and used on other models and manufacturers. The tutorial may work for other Symbian S60 releases as well, but I don’t have the equipment to test, so your mileage may vary. Feel free to report successes if you were able to make use of this tutorial on other types of phones.
This tutorial focuses on proxy setup for the internal web browser of the Nokia E51 and E90, but setup should be identical on other S60v3 devices.

Setting up the proxy server #
- Once you have defined your Wifi network, or have another existing network you’re using you should go to the Main Menu –> Tools and then Settings and Connection:

- Now select Options:

- Go to Advanced Settings.

- Go to Proxy server address and Proxy port number and fill in the Protoweb proxy server information. The proxy server may differ from the one on the screenshot. Please refer to this page for the current proxy server settings.

- If the phone asks to create a connection in offline mode, hit Yes.
