This is the website for one of the earliest DSB (direct satellite broadcast) companies from the 1990’s, PrimeStar. This company was later folded into DirecTV in 1999.
The site itself displays the service offerings that were available on May 5, 1997. A channel line-up was provided with short preview videos on pages that contained channel categories. A QuickTime plugin for your browser will be needed in order to view the preview videos. The site works well in both Netscape Navigator 4 and Internet Explorer 5.
There were original art assets for the navigation buttons on the right that changed when the mouse hovered over the links. Alas, the original assets have been lost to time, so instead the code for the pages was modified to only show the initial button images.
