You are currently viewing WWWVOice.com – Humor Zine Thing

WWWVOice is…well, it’s a lot of things.
For starters, its domain is www.wwwvoice.com, not www.voice.com; this is something that has already tripped up multiple people in the testing phase. Deliberately confusing names aside, the best way that one can describe this labyrinth of a website is as a brief glimpse into a parodic universe’s version of the early web. It features a wide variety of satirical counterparts of real-life corporations and concepts, all of which are highly interconnected in order to make it feel more genuine. As genuine as something this silly can get, anyways.
While I’d prefer to not give away too much in order to avoid spoiling that which lies within, what I will say is that this website feels like a Mel Brooks take on the contemporary trends and technologies relating to the web. Not all the jokes land, but its gag-a-minute style of humor means that if one joke falls flat then it’ll quickly move onto the next. Personally, I found that it was at its best when you’re familiar with the subject matter — as someone who has grown quite familiar with this era of the web over the years, some of the jokes are ones that I legitimately found to be hysterical.
Do keep in mind, however, that if you suffer from epilepsy, then this website should be avoided; the amount of flashing images and blinking text could prove to be quite harmful.
