Ezone.com is now available to browse on Protoweb. The site features 50+ Shockwave games & animations playable in-browser, a downloads section with themes & screensavers, hints and high scores. The site requires Flash Player 2+ and Shockwave 6+ to fully browse.
Ezone got its start in the mid-90’s, releasing products such as Tremors, a pack of royalty-free small Shockwave files meant to be embedded on websites.
Eventually, Ezone went on to make games, the most notable of which feature the character Lenny Loosejocks, a shirtless Australian man with oversized shorts. The games Lenny Loosejocks goes Walkabout and Lenny in Space are particularly impressive for their time, featuring Myst-esque gameplay, multiple levels & character design that still looks good today.
Many of Ezone’s games were featured on other sites in the 2000’s such as Shockwave.com & Nick.com. Many made their way onto various shareware game CD’s of the time as well. I recommend giving the site a look if you’re interested in playing some challenging but fun & well-designed 90’s browser-based games.
