Weather.com (The Weather Channel) is now available to view on Protoweb. It is a complete capture of weather.com as it was in late 1996. Live conditions and forecasts are also available for most major US cities and select international cities.
The site leverages the OpenWeatherMap API to provide current weather and forecast data, which is then faithfully translated to look as it would on the original page. Current conditions are refreshed every 10 minutes and forecast data is refreshed every hour. Images also change based on what the weather conditions are and what time of day it is.
This restoration is a good example of what is possible with Protoweb. Live-data and interactive elements help breathe life into this platform. I hope this site can give others inspiration for their own restorations!
